My mother wanted me to become a physician. Instead, I became a dancer and a massage therapist. I believe the art of movement is the form of medicine I have been called to practice.

I had reconstructive knee surgery after a ski accident at the age of 14. I was very curious about the body, so I asked to stay awake for my surgery. The inside of my knee was a beautiful and wild place. After 3-months of missing school, laying on my back with a machine that moved my leg all night, I had my first massage at home. It was magic! I felt the parts of me that had compensated for the injury and learned to be patient while it was healing, reuniting with my body as a whole. The massage sessions I received later from a physical therapist were also profoundly influential to my recovery process, and later to me as a practitioner. 

When an injury occurs it is important (for the person healing, and the practitioner using hands-on techniques to focus on the area) to keep the entire body in awareness in order to restore a sense of wholeness. My knee rehabilitation revealed to me the integrative power of bodywork. Now, I support people in exploring and engaging the global community of their own bodies. Massage therapy is a powerful medicine to support that process.

My core training was received from the World School of Massage and Holistic Healing Arts in 2009, with 550-hours of training. I also carry a BFA in Performance and Choreography from CU Boulder. Other coursework includes: Feldenkrais method, anatomy, deep tissue and common injuries from the San Francisco School of Massage, EHS Pilates, and Jason Garcia, CMT. I continue to learn the most from receiving regular bodywork. My teachers and healers include: Advanced Rolfer, Kaytlyn O’Connor; Damiana Carpizo, CMT; Kara Waltz, D.C.; and Ariel Provasoli, D.C.

 I believe in the healing power of letting one's wounds be of great benefit to many, and that is my intention in this practice. My body and everybody that I've had the opportunity to work with have taught the way healing happens through deep listening, movement and alignment. The motion of every breath we take opens a channel to feel our innate healing wisdom.
